Oh Ife Ayo!

After a long thought provoking discussion with Wendy in the wee hours of a cold harmattan night, I finally decided it was time to open up my heart to possibilities of finding love again but first, I’ve got to revive my social skills.

Lock down came and all plans were put to a halt, life was no longer what we were used to and my favorite lifestyle of staying indoors became the norm.
Along came cupid, fun, engaging and for the first time in a while socializing seem to be more like it. But you stood out, your mindset and thought process made me curious about you.

For every discourse, your perspective just stands out, and you made more sense than the last time and I was becoming increasingly drawn to you. It didn’t take long before my opportunity came, I reached out to you for a supposed collaboration (That never happened LOL).

We got talking, Oh my! Everything just made sense, our conversations, bants, role plays, and early morning prayers, I just knew this was a friendship I wasn’t going to let go or ruin. My creative juices always came alive with every encounter. Mhen! Everything felt right, I started quizzing myself, if it was because of boredom, I tried to pull away but it was a little too late as our hearts were locked in a warm embrace already.

Oh Ife Ayo! Your level of selflessness is out of this world, despite not getting as much as you dish out, you never stop, and your affectionate nature can melt the hardest of hearts in split seconds.

As I lay on my sick bed not sure if I’ll see the next sunrise, memories keep rushing through my mind of the highs and lows, the road trips, high speed racing, street walks around town those lockdown nights, oh my did I just shed a tear?
The fights, very messy, the blocks, the reconciliation, the intimacy, your warmth, oh my Ife Ayo! Your smile, so beautiful like a child with no worries, despite having a lot on your mind you still managed to keep your head straight and above waters. You’re a typical example of an Amazon!

Do I have regrets? Na! just lessons, learning to be be a better human, a good friend and a great partner, I’ll forever hold those memories close to my heart as I close my eyes to the world, with hopes for another sunrise, my heart beat goes faint from pains both from the weakness of my body and the hurt in my heart.

Ife Ayo… My tale of Love and Pain.
