Growing up as a child, I had few people I looked up to as heroes who constantly inspired me. These individuals cut across all works of life and they are known for their various exceptional feats. Kobe Bryant was one of them. As an avid basketball lover, his style of play was always delight to watch but that\’s a story for another day. On Sunday January 26th, 2020 he passed away in an unfortunate helicopter crash in California alongside his daughter, the pilot and 7 other people. Within minutes that the news of his unfortunate passing got out, over 2m tweets were posted already in honor of what a great man he was. One thing that struck me in all of this is that, there were 9 victims in the crash, the world literally stood still because of this single man and his daughter, as much as the families and friends of the other victims will surely miss them, there was more pain and hurt when people spoke about Kobe and Gigi. Question what did he do differently from the other passengers? What kind of life did he lead? Was it because he was a former NBA star? Well it was beyond that. I looked at the various works of life were tributes were coming from, with various personal experiences from various quarters. The man was truly a legend. He broke barriers across borders, across sports, across career path. He was known for standing up and living his life to the fullest. Even as at the time of his passing, he was on his way to a game to inspire a whole lot more kids to become all they could be. There are a lot of memories of his numerous service been mentioned. This brings me to the question we started with. What will you be remembered for? What would be written of you or said of you when you leave the stage? Think about it. #RIPKobe #MambaOutPicture credit: John Shearer/Getty Images for Grammy Awards 2020. LIVE, LOVE, LEAD!!!LIVE A LIFE OF PURPOSE John Fadejola
